In the service industry, your work is about so much more than just selling food and drinks to people. You provide not just meals and libations but togetherness and conversations. And while it feels like all of that has come to a screeching halt, that doesn’t have to be the case. Bars, pubs, taverns, restaurants, clubs, and breweries aren’t just transactional places but more importantly places of comradery, friendship and entertainment, all things you can still provide now, even though your doors are closed.
While your patrons may not be able to physically walk into your establishment, a virtual trivia night is a great way to bring your bar to them. If you were hosting a regular trivia night before the pandemic, why not give your patrons back their routine? We could all use some normalcy right now and a weekly trivia event is a fun way to give your customers exactly that. People will be more likely to return to your business when places reopen and in the meantime, you can ask participants for a donation. It can even be in the form of a buy-in for the game, but instead of becoming a prize pot, it will go to keeping your business alive. We have found that most patrons are more than happy to support you.
