Enjoy your $140 and the sweet feeling of beating a reigning-for-a-really-long-time-almost-to-the-point-of-obnoxiousness champion. The afore mentioned mayhem may have partly been due to the fact that your normally very responsible quizmasters were incredibly drunk by, oh say, the third round and combined with 14 teams that made for an interesting event in which we had to add multiples of 100 a ridiculous amount of times when all we (okay, I) really wanted to do was dance on the table. Ay dios mio! Last night’s quiz was oh so loco. (Pardon my Cinco-de-Mayo-inspired garish use of Spanish, por favor.) Quiz On My Face and Tell Me That You Love Me squared off against the incumbent champions (aka: the self-proclaimed quiz-villains) Lemming Suicide Pact in a nail-biting tie breaker round. Quiz On My Face secured their victory and their $80 when their representative came within 6 inches (hey yo) of the correct answer. Then there was the whole Marlins versus Diamondbacks thing, which was pretty exciting, at least to us quizmasters. One real wild night. I suggest you all continue that craziness tomorrow tequila-style… until then:

Los Pollos Hermanos because I don’t watch Breaking Bad (I know, I know) and so I didn’t know this was actually a thing and I really just wanted to make a picture for this. Ah well. The logo from the fast food place in the show is pretty awesome, like how one chicken brother is sort of traditional with his poncho and one is sort of more Partridge Family. So at least there’s that.

This weekend, may you put down your margarita for a minute to reflect on the real meaning of Cinco de Mayo (known in Puebla, Mexico as El Dia de la Batalla de Puebla, obviously) and that is, of course, freedom, heritage and pride. Last night’s quiz was fairly calm, expect for those two drunk guys who were trying to convince/dissuade us of their hermaphroditic status. There was also the pic round shake up that ended up with a lot of teams having weird scores ending in 50, but you all took it in stride, so well done there. I refuse to once again congratulate Lemming Suicide Pact, even though they took home the $100 pot and left a whole lot of heartbreak behind with their 600 point lead.
